ProCheckUp perform a pilot assessment against Cyber Essentials

CREST, CESG and BIS have been working closely to develop the assessment framework for the Cyber Essentials Scheme, which addresses the need to create a baseline for UK Cyber Security and focuses on five essential mitigations within the context of the "Government's 10 Steps to Cyber Security guidance". The full document can be found here.

ProCheckUp were approached by CREST to perform a pilot assessment against Cyber Essentials for one of their clients. Cyber Essentials is now available to all companies.

As a business, ProCheckUp understand how important it is to keep expenditure to the minimum. This independent assessment is aimed at organisations of all sizes and from all sectors, helping to assure that the fundamental security controls are in place, mitigating the risk from internet-based threats.

Jonathan Bush, IT Security Consultant of ProCheckUp commented: "This assessment helps organisations to gain an understanding of their current Information Security state. Cyber Essentials provides a security foundation on which companies can use to help steer their security strategy moving forward. By formalising this framework, we can now help ensure all our clients meet and exceed an approved standard.".

Additionally, organisations can be issued with an independent certificate, which will demonstrate to their customers that the tested organisation is security savvy and takes cyber security seriously.
