A large commercial site with a enviable reputation in their market commissioned ProChecKUp to perform an application test including a detailed review of their access controls.

In its current configuration the system allowed unauthenticated users access to authenticated functionality. Any improper access controls such as this could allow access of sensitive information, opening the company up to sabotage and malicious activity. A number of other issues were also discovered including a weakness in the overall strength of the security controls in place to deter malicious users.

Since the discovery by ProCheckUp liaised with the company to remediate the vulnerabilities and have now implemented stringent access controls thus raising the level of security within their environment.
